Summary

As head of the Medical Proficiency Acceleration Center (MPAC), including the Office of Grants and Education (OG&E), this position is responsible for leadership and oversight of the full spectrum of work of the function. Key areas include Independent Medical Education grants, Corporate Sponsorships, educational and healthcare Quality Improvement sponsorships, USMA congress sponsorship planning, and monitoring and assessment of changes in relevant healthcare policies and regulations. The Senior Director is accountable for managing, leading, and developing MPAC staff, establishing and achieving the vision, long-term strategies and the business goals for the function and continually advancing MPAC capabilities.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all MPAC/OGE activities including collaborative development of education strategies with internal stakeholders, business planning and management, budget management, Grants and Sponsorship operations, reports and analytics, audits, outcomes tracking and the continuous development and enhancement of the MPAC/OGE function. Ensure all activities (both internally and with external agencies/organizations) are handled appropriately and compliantly, consistent with internal policies and external standards and regulations.
- Oversee the continuous advancement of MPAC's learning science expertise and capabilities. Ensure support of educational programs that apply the latest learning science principles. Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop and execute long-term strategies to accelerate integration of scientific evidence into patient care. Plan and manage sponsorships/programs to support healthcare quality improvement and appropriate integration of latest scientific evidence into healthcare; ensure endorsement from senior management as applicable/appropriate.
- Establish the vision, business priorities and future direction of MPAC/OGE. Continually advance the capabilities and maximize the business outcomes of MPAC/OGE work. Recruit, retain and continuously develop staff. Effectively coach and provide ongoing feedback through formal and informal discussions; ensure appropriate Objective Setting and Individual Development Plans; complete formal Performance Reviews; oversee and assure highly effective on-boarding and training of all newly hired employees; manage staff deployment.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree preferred
- PharmD or PhD preferred
 

Experience Qualifications

- 10 or More Years overall related experience or commensurate education/experience required
- 7 or More Years in the pharmaceutical industry in medical education with experience in managing sponsorships required
- People management experience required
- 4 or More Years in oncology strongly preferred

Travel

Ability to travel up to 20%
