Summary

Through leadership and management of supply planners and processes, responsible for ensuring that inventory is at or near target levels by managing the day-to-day relationship with Contract Management Organizations (CMO's), internal DS plants and DSI's Forecasting Team. Analyzes forecast against current inventory to provide required supply forecasts , creates Purchase Orders (PO's) and ensures that CMO's and internal DS plants are meeting DSI supply needs across the entire product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of all packaging plans for CMO’s based on forecast and current inventory levels across all product portfolios. Manage the creation of production plans for finished goods. Analyze inventory trends and procure bulk drugs and finished goods. Coordinate efforts with CMO partners throughout the supply chain to achieve inventory plans. Manage supply planners (if applicable) to actively monitor inventory levels for packaged products, all materials, and production schedules. Manages month end financial close out. Communicates and elevates concerns with CMO performance if needed. Own the reporting and overseeing of all product metrics. Manages the operational activities required for import/export of products and materials coming from/going to locations outside of the USA.

  • Execute the processes for data collection and analysis for the department and for Global requests. Support the data collection for the Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) process.

  • Execute the processes required to update information regarding purchase and process order status, by coordinating cross-functional activities with Finance, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Inventory Control and Shipping/Receiving. Ensures that systems and software [SAP: Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Purchase Order Management, Inventory Management] are in place and up to date, to generate orders and to track and maintain inventory. Oversee operational activities to ensure systems and processes used in Supply Planning are functioning appropriately.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university):

  • Bachelor's Degree required; a degree in Business, Logistics or related field preferred

Experience Qualifications:

  • 4 or More Years overall related experience required

  • 1 or More Years of experience in production planning and/or materials management required

  • 1 or More Years of experience using an ERP system (preferably SAP) in the Supply Planning area required

  • 4 or More Years of experience in production planning and/or materials management preferred

  • 1 or More Years of knowledge of FDA requirements preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 20% Primary travel to domestic contract manufacturing locations and to global DS sites as required.
