Summary
Daiichi Sankyo is in a period of rapid growth and transformation. As the company leverages its first-in-class and best-in-class medicines that are transforming and improving standards of care across a range of cancers, the Global Business Development (GBD) organization is evolving to meet the needs of a global oncology company. The Global External Innovation organization plays a key leadership role in the twin pillars of this evolution: ensuring Daiichi Sankyo leadership's alignment on external innovation priorities and driving operational excellence across GBD and the company's external-innovation efforts. Reporting to the Vice President - Global External Innovation (GEI), this role will be responsible for shaping and managing GBD's engagement strategy with the external innovation ecosystem, internal stakeholder communication, and GBD team training & development efforts. This experienced leader will ensure communications with key stakeholders are strategic, engaging, leverage storytelling, articulate the company's vision, goals and values, and influence our desired positive culture, which will require learning and maintaining a deep understanding of business strategies. This role will require a close partnership with Daiichi Sankyo corporate communications.
Responsibilities
- External GBD Stakeholder Communication and Strategic Engagement: Develop an external communication strategy in support of GBD priorities. This includes developing key messages to the external GBD community in partnership with leadership. In addition, identifying and prioritizing conference and event sponsorship, membership of appropriate trade organizations, prioritizing and hosting external networking and partnering events in key innovation hubs, preparing external presentations and associated communications, identifying and supporting thought-leadership opportunities for the team, and more. Supports corporate communications with messaging and input on corporate activities that relate to GBD.
- Internal Communications: Responsible for developing a multi-level internal communications strategy for the GBD Team, and internal key stakeholders. Supports corporate communications with messaging and input on internal company-wide communications relevant to GBD.. Develop key messages and executive communications themes and messaging and determine the appropriate communication tools for the various targeted audience to be leveraged in multi-channel communications (GBD Team All Hands meetings, internal stakeholder road shows, newsletters, annual impact report, organizational announcements, etc..)
- Training and Development: Lead the development and roll out of a broader training and development program for GBD and extended members engaging in external innovation. This will range from working with GBD leadership and HR Training and Development to identify the core competencies and determining where we can leverage external programming and where internal training and communications are required. In addition this role will create and implement several continuous education programs such as lunch and learns, educational sessions on scientific trends, and presentations on new capabilities.
- Collaborate with the other members of GBD on projects of importance.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree required
- Master's Degree preferred
Experience Qualifications
- 10 or More Years 10 or More Years Related communications experience required required
- Proven track record developing content for a variety of channels (print, email, web, social media, PowerPoint, video, etc.) required required
- Change management initiatives and colleague engagement strategies experience preferred preferred
- Healthcare communications experience preferred preferred
- Familiarity with corporate branding guidelines and healthcare communications best practices a plus preferred preferred
- Experience working across regions in a globally-diverse, multinational company preferred. preferred
Travel
Ability to travel up to 20%. International and domestic travel
