SUMMARY
The Associate Director of CR2 Project Management and Operational Excellence (PM-OE) provides, with very limited direction, strategic planning, operational management, and oversight of Global CR2 non project initiatives including budgets, for Global CR2 RWD/RWE and able to executive effectively, while working in a fast moving and matrixed organization. The CR2 PMOE is responsible for supporting efforts to achieve overall operational excellence across all activities and projects with the final goal of accelerating the business, in a compliant and efficient manner via the following responsibilities/activities:
- Leading and managing high priority non projects initiatives o Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Ensuring streamlined and efficient communication within and outside the department
- Managing risks and escalating issues in a timely manner o Financial and Budget planning and management and oversight of contract-to-purchase order (PO) process o Facilitating key meetings (internal CR2 Leadership Meetings, Compound Review meetings, cross-functional, cross-regional, vendor meetings)
- Tracking and communicating activities in terms of timing, anticipated risk, and mitigation of issues/conflict resolutions
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management:
- Lead and manage functional and cross-functional CR2 non project initiatives (NPI) by, ensuring that teams deliver projects/activities successfully and on time and on budget, as per annual plan objectives.
- Ensure close collaboration with Team and Functional leaders, establish a strategic plan for monitoring the activities, as per the Business Plan and priorities.
- Drive, with CR2 Functional and Team Leaders, the prioritization and planning of resources and develop rationale for annual resource planning. o Establish milestones and metrics, in collaboration with CR2 Teams and develop a detailed project plan, in order to track progress and measure impact of the activity.
- Lead Support Teams and Functional Leaders with annual Business Planning process associated documents, including proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders to manage plan development.
- Proactively follow-up on action items and requests of CR2 Leaders. o Lead issue resolution meetings. Lead risk identification, prioritization, and mitigation planning processes across the Department o Generate and maintains strategic integrated CR2 project plans, project timelines, high quality risk management plans, and communication plans, as needed.
- Assess, implement and maintain Project Management Systems for CR2.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive operational excellence initiatives from CR2 wide organization perspective.
- Facilitate root-cause analyses sessions and lessons learned initiatives and drive operational improvements for the CR2 team
- Facilitate the NPI Inspection Process and activities. o Identify gaps in CR2 processes and functional procedures that (potentially) impact program delivery and escalate appropriately to Global Head PM-OE and CR2 Leadership Team.
- Develop monthly and annual updates to Global Head PM-OE and CR2 Leadership Team.
- Integrate operational excellence best practices into regular team meetings and communications to enhance overall capabilities.
- Leverage and build proper networking and stakeholder management within and outside CR2
Financial Management:
- Drive and lead the budget planning and tracking process for CR2; work with CR2 Leaders to provide consolidated budget/LE updates (across all activities and regions) in a timely manner with appropriate rationale. o Liaise and build trust and collaboration with DS Finance, Legal, and Procurement teams, as necessary, to ensure activities are executed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Vendor Oversight:
- Manage and facilitate selection of vendors for a variety of initiatives, provide oversight for the design and delivery of initiatives for CR2.
- Ensure timelines and milestones are achieved as part of delivery of initiatives by vendors.
- Provide oversight, as needed for contractors across projects or initiatives.
- Ensure SOW, payment terms, and onboarding activities for vendors or contractors are executed.
- Proactively identify risks, prioritization, and mitigation as part of vendor oversight or for contractors.

Meeting Facilitation:
- Support / Contribute with Team and Functional Leaders for formal presentations/communications to CR2 Leadership.
- Prepare meeting agendas and content for CR2 Leadership Meetings on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Plan, prepare, and execute quarterly leadership team off-site meetings.
- Provide oversight for the planning and execution of CR2 Global Townhall meetings.
- Disseminate key leadership communications throughout CR2 and lead issue escalation efforts when required.
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
- Bachelor's Degree in scientific related discipline required
- Master's Degree in scientific related discipline Studies preferred
Experience Qualifications
- Must have at least 7 or more years of professional pharmaceutical industry (or related healthcare industry) in supporting post marketed drug development.
- Must have proven expertise in delivering and and implementing agile methodologies.
- Proven ability to negotiate and align across the organization and across various regions, and business functions.
- Must have solid change management skills and engagement to enable continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated expertise within data governance, data management and analytics.
- Proven leadership of teams and vendors within a highly matrixed environment
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills that also includes: motivating project teams, negotiation, active listening, and empathy.
- Demonstrated analytical skills along with meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work and expert organization skills.
- Proven ability to drive decision making process, including ability to challenge teams and achieve excellence.
- Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Must be a self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to execute with very limited direction.
- Some expertise within Six Sigma, Prince2, PMI Agile Certification highly preferred along with knowledge of SAP.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI PMP Certification preferred
Travel
Must have the ability to travel up to 20% both domestic and global
